This extraordinary event is proudly organized by the 2023 kanthari participants, bringing together individuals from 12 countries:
Cameroon, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Liberia, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe.
In recent times, Rakhine has faced significant challenges, especially in the aftermath of the devastating MOCHA cyclone. The region has been grappling with a severe food shortage, leaving many families without access to sufficient food. In this time of crisis, the local population has heavily relied on emergency aid provided by local and international organizations, social groups, and compassionate individuals.
During this crisis period, producing food for the farm’s sufficient consumption is the first priority. In this rainy season (2023) we have been growing seasonal crops such as long beans, egg-plant, bottle gourd, cucumber and others.
Permaculture Institute Myanmar (PIM)မှနေ ဦးဆောင်ပြီး permaculture farmတစ်ခုစတင် အကောင်အထည်ဖော်ဆောင်ရွက်နေသည်မှာ ၂၀၂၀ခုနှစ် ဇွန်လကတည်းမှပင်ဖြစ်ပေသည်။

*မြန်မာ့နှစ်သစ်ကူးအကြိုအနေနဲ့ လက်ရှိစိုက်ခင်းနေရာအား permacutrue farm design တစ်ခု လက်တွေ့ရေးဆွဲရန် အတူတကွဝိုင်းဝန်းလုပ်ဆောင်မည့် စိတ်ပါဝင်စားသော စေတနာ့ဝန်ထမ်းများကို ဖိတ်ခေါ်ချင်ပါတယ်။
As an activist Dr Garnett is interested in helping to create change and her commitment to improving the lives of regional youth in Myanmar goes well beyond scholarly pursuits. In mid-2019 Dr Garnett purchased 9 acres of land in southern Rakhine State, in the west of Myanmar and this has become home base for PIM – a much-needed plot of land on which to develop a demonstration permaculture farm and school.
